1. Program Overview

The Romanian Heritage Awards (romanianheritageawards.org) is a nonprofit community program organized by the Federation of Romanian-American Organizations (FORA) and partner organizations. It is not a government program, not a federally registered scholarship fund, and not affiliated with any university or college admissions body.

  • Submission of an application does not guarantee review, recognition, or a response beyond confirmation of receipt.

4. Intellectual Property

  • All content on this website — including text, logos, graphics, and program materials — is the property of the Romanian Heritage Awards and its organizing partners. It may not be reproduced without written permission.
  • Content submitted by applicants (essays, project descriptions, photos) remains the property of the applicant. By submitting, you grant the program a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use brief excerpts for program communications, with attribution, unless you request otherwise in writing.

5. No Guarantee of Award

Submission of a complete and eligible application does not guarantee recognition at any award level. Award decisions are made solely by the independent Evaluating Committee and are final.

6. Monetary Awards and Tax

Where monetary awards are offered, recipients are solely responsible for understanding and complying with any applicable US federal or state tax obligations. The program does not provide tax advice and is not responsible for any tax liability arising from award receipt.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Romanian Heritage Awards, FORA, and their partner organizations are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in the program, use of this website, or attendance at program events.

8. Third-Party Links

This site may link to external websites (partner organizations, Facebook, etc.). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
